Art is emotionally risky and there is so much to navigate in becoming an artist. Little of it has anything to do with actually creating art; overcoming imposter syndrome, feeling guilty for doing what I love, finding the confidence to speak up and to be seen, struggling with perfectionism, these are all lifelong challenges. I'm winning and am finally reconciled to the fact that I am an artist. Creating is core to my being. It brings me peace and joy. Living this artist life is a gift and a privilege.

I take risks because through risk comes growth. I reject the idea that artists must conform to art norms or that I am obliged to create art that complies; so, I just do my own thing, my own way, in my own time. I am a multi media creative. I work in whatever medium inspires me. I am living my authentic life.
